Giovanna Barreto
Giovanna is a psychologist with a solid background and an international perspective in her training and practice. She holds a Master’s in Psychoanalysis from Mexico and another in Counselling in Psychology from New Brunswick, Canada. Since 2002, she has worked in private practice in Mexico, and since 2022, she has expanded her services to Ontario, Canada, offering support to clients in various areas of mental health.
Her expertise also extends to assisting migrants, as she collaborates closely with lawyers in Windsor and immigration consultants. Together, they provide support to individuals undergoing complex legal proceedings, strengthening appeals with professional clinical evaluations that address their psychological needs within a legal context.
In addition, Giovanna is part of the team at Rain&Shine Behavioural Counselling Ltd. in Chatham-Kent, where she works with young offenders facing criminal charges, providing them with support and resources to address their situations and promote their well-being.
Dedicated to professional growth, Giovanna engages in ongoing training. This year, she has expanded her knowledge in areas such as Reiki, Channeling, Akashic Records, and Violence Risk Assessment at the Trauma Center in the United States.
Giovanna has also committed her time to volunteering with the Chatham-Kent Police Victim Services, where for years she has supported individuals in vulnerable situations, further reinforcing her dedication to the community and her vocation for service.
