Community Member

Since I arrived in Chatham-Kent in 2012 with my family, this city has embraced me with open arms, offering me a place to grow and build my life. After nearly 13 years of living here, I can confidently say that I’ve found a diverse and welcoming community. In this corner of the world, I’ve met people from all over, who have, over time, become an extension of my family. Together, we’ve shared and celebrated our cultural and family traditions, creating deep bonds that transcend any distance.

What I value most about Chatham-Kent is the warmth of its people, which has allowed me to form friendships I consider to be true siblings—my family away from home. Here, I’ve also had the opportunity to rebuild my career, which has made me feel fulfilled and happy.

I never imagined that one day I would call home a city so different from vibrant Mexico City, my hometown, which never sleeps. Chatham-Kent, on the other hand, is a peaceful, quiet city that has given me the chance to rediscover the true meaning of community and belonging. Today, with all my heart, I can proudly say that this small city is the place I now call home.
